An avid reader from the very childhood 'Chandmama' 'Betal' 'Anandamela' were great attractions at younghood. In course of time taste changed in maturity. Intense liking effort and co-operation of elder brothers and sisters of the locality established a small library - the first in the area. Library was made of gift books collected from houses where those books were left unused and without care. Self was filled with books after being dusted and wrapped up. Meanwhile reading of books with the smell of napthalene went on uninterruptedly from Swapan Kumar to Saratchandra, Rabindranath and then Samaresh Bose. Due to irresistable urge of books we went to BNR-GKW-REMINGTON and District library to be rich with the donation of rejected books. Then happened an important event. To inspire our library with 3000 Bengali books, the librarian minister Mrs. Chhaya Bera herself donated Rs. 10000 consequently, efforts were made to buy new books. Octogenarian actor Mr. Gour Shee ( Actor of Jamalaye Jibonto Manush and Ashite Ashiona ) read those books throughout the night. After the death of his wife he also left for heavenly abode. At the time of death there was a book beside his head entitled 'LOTAKAMBAL' written by Sanjib Chattopadhay. From then it was realised that the book is the only all time friend of men and even death also.
Thereafter, a long period of time passed - dusty Book fair, burnt Book fair and international Book fair of maidan. Still some valuable moments were being spent with old friends. Many friends living far away or abroad request for books. Keeping in view these requests efforts were made to set up BOIPEONKOLKATA.COM the result of labour of Soumen, my loving friend. It is our pledge to send books to our friends in moderate rate. All the readers are friends. Your advice, wish and valuable opinions are fervently solicited. In remote future books will reach to our friends with your best wishes even without our corporal existence
